RESUMO

This work presents a resolution method for the problem of short term hydrotermal scheduling for hydro-dominated power systems with security constraints. The method developed solves this problem through the hybrid approach, which combines a hydraulic system simulation with an electrical system optimization for each hour during the short term horizon. The operational constraints of the hydraulic, termic and transmission systems are represented in great detail, attending the global load, satisfying the security constraints. Energetic constraints must be satisfied too. In the development of the optimizer of the electric system and in the coordenation of the hydraulic operation with the electric operation, the Continuation Method is used
