RESUMO
The uncoupler desaspidin is labile in the presence of oxidants at alkaline pH values. It also undergoes chlorophyll-sensitized photooxidation at a more acid pH. The products of the oxidation appear to have negligible activity in inhibiting electron transfer and photophosphorylation.
