RESUMO

This work had for objective to investigate the perceptions of pupils of Young and Adult Education on their teaching-Iearning process. 50 people of both sex, who attended classes from 1st to 4th grades of the Young and Adult Basic Education in outskirt schools of Bauru city had been interviewed. This interview had been carried through individually, totalizing 13 pupils of 1st grades, 12 pupils of 2nd grades, 11 pupils of 3rd grades, and 14 pupils of 4th grades. The age group of these participants varied from 14 to 80 years old, being 60% women and 40% men. Trying to involve different dimensions of learning process, the questionnaire was divided in 4 main axles-pupil personal aspects, teacher methodology, relative questions to the teaching-Ieaming process and the school social function. The data had been analyzed to the light of the content analysis technique. The results had demonstrated that in the personal aspect, the pupils had told their histories, had disclosed their fears, anguishes, and conquests, reflecting on themselves and on their education process. By their speeches, we verified that the affective relation between teachers and pupils contributes for a healthy teaching-Iearning process, making an efficient learning. The education institution environment is a space of both learning and relationship that makes it possible some strategies for reaching pupils independence and dignity. The context of adult education is a fruitful field for new studies, so it has the necessity of researches which give pupils opportunities to speak, investigating this modality of education
