RESUMO
The family and the day care center are notably important institutions for childrens development. Thats why it is extremely relevant that the opportunities for both child and parents are well-balanced in order to optimize the childs education. Based on these statements, this study proposes as its main objective, the evaluation of a program with the participation of mothers and fathers in an educational institution for the benefit of the childs development. In order to fulfill this task, the participants in the parents SEPI project were interviewed. Their answers were closely analysed and the highlighted exam categories were used as a method of evaluation. The topics, which presented high distinction taking into considerations the results obtained, were the following: demonstration of personal expectations before performing the father and mother role, the value of skill development opportunities as well as the discussion about various day to day matters and also the possibilities to look forward to opportunities to change their lives resulting from these new experiences. It was observed that the parents presence helped both directly and indirectly in the improvement of the relationship with their children. It also had shown a significant improvement in many cases.
