The reported case suggested that the law intervention did not diminish the patients hospitalization frequency, even while contributed to a more intense medical supervision. Law scrutiny was perceived by the family and the patient as additional stress factor to family relations. This approach did not alter the confrontation resources structured by the adolescent and her family multigenerationally. This factor could have jeopardized the assimilation of more effective ways to deal with DM1. This research also demonstrated the need of external intervention to allow a more effective dialogue among health team, family and Court of Law. Its expected from more dialogue the structuring of more robust social network to support the patient and her family that has perceived themselves negligenciated and isolated during the whole process
