RESUMO

In this work, the objective was to find the best junctions welded by the ultrasound and the spot resistance welding processes, through an optimization of their main parameters, employing a complete factorial planning and the statistic method of the surface response. Lately, it was performed a comparison among the specified properties for the unions, shear resistance, peel resistance and electric resistance. The utilized materials were the alluminum AAII00-0 and the copper CI0200 alloys, with which the unions alluminumlalluminum, copper/copper and alluminumlcopper were welded, and which are employed in an automotive electric part, produced by the Robert Bosch do Brasil company. The obtained results showed that, in a general way, the ultrasound process produced the most applicable junctions for the part, and also other more specific complementary advantages, like an easier, cleaner and faster welding and some less severe work conditions for the worker. The junctions alluminumlalluminum were welded by both processes, being the results very close one to the other. For the junctions copper/copper and alluminumlcopper, the welding was successful through the ultrasound process, while through the resistance process, the results with the employed materials were not satisfactory. The studied statistical tools brought trustful results for all the experiments, since they were based in theoretical concepts
