RESUMO

This work discusses the various possibilities of the meeting between the psychotherapist or, simply, at, like is commonly called, and his patients, trying to discuss the ethical dimension of experiences in this process. Interviews with ats who developed work within psychiatric institutions and were aimed at discussing the relationship of therapeutic assistance with these institutions. These oral narratives mark a time line that includes the years 1970 to 2004. The concern with ethics in the professional field of psychology, while not being the object of this research, through all the work of reflection, even when not explicit
