RESUMO

This work has as purpose to study the representations remains to the active teachers of History practice in the Management of Jaú area. Fifty five teachers were interviewed, visited twenty-eight units that were distributed in sixteen municipal districts. The study about the representations came from the questionnaires applied that contained closed and open questions; those subjects made possible to analyze three great themes: 1º) the teachers professional path; 2º) the work conditions and; 3º) knowledge areas. The inference on the themes revealed the influence, partly, of the two spheres that will form the educational practice: initial formation and the experience in the school sphere that will configure those teachers? school historical knowledge, showing his/her images, expectations and frustration on the educator?s paper and the teachers of History profession
