RESUMO
The youngsters of Assentamento Poções relate to one another and live together with or from their different roles and functions, in different groups, living their lives as part of local and global systemic relations that make them dream, idealize and plan their future. This research sought to analyze how the plans for the future of the youngsters who live at Assentamento Poções, in the municipality of Rialma, Goiás, are made and developed. Aiming to analyze these youngsters options to make their plans, and also identify characteristic aspects of the culture of origin as well as of the urban culture in a social and historical context, the concepts of youth, rural youth, identity, life plan, range of possibilities and heritage were used. Among the several tools available for the social researchers, and considering the problem which oriented the research, the case study was used to delineate the investigation, and the participative observation was applied as the main methodological strategy with semi-structured, individual and group interviews. Based on a local conception for the definitions of the youngsters, some of them were selected for the interview. As a result, it was noticed that, for their social insertion, the youngsters of Assentamento Poções visit different social spaces without rupturing or denying their locality or culture. Nonetheless, most youngsters of the Assentamento Poções show certain refusal to their condition of cultivators, which makes them go in search of job opportunities or higher education levels in the city.
