RESUMO

The researches object is the politics propose of the Centro de Estudos e Ações Solidárias da Maré (CEASM), that works in the a Maré district and proposes more than promote the access the Marés residents to university, it also wants to capacity people to change their oppressive reality. The courses organizers think that academic learning makes the students more capable to promote the social transformation, and they mind to form organic intellectuals (Gramsci, 1968). This intervention on the reality is the entail to the social justice conception named recognition politics (Taylor, 2005), that asserts the persons or groups identity may suffer damage, if the people, or the society, depreciate that identity.: the lack of recognition can be a form of oppression that impression persons or groups in a false and distorted mode of being. Than this dissertations aim is to verify if the Maré`s preparatory courses expectation becomes true. For this, interviews were made with eight persons that studied at the Marés preparator y course and entered at PUC-RJ university on 2000. The interviews analysis allows be perceived that the students made the university a privileged space for the fight for recognition.
