RESUMO

This thesis discusses the relationship between the two basic forms of human sociality the archaic and the modern ones and artistic creation in general and literary creation in particular. In more detail, it holds up the idea according to what the essence and typical characteristics of those forms of sociality occur exemplarily in art and literature. Therefore, the artist and, in particular, the writer, on the one hand, accomplishes completely the demand of modernity of generating singularities, clearly distinct from one another and totally free to reciprocal influences; on the other hand and simultaneously, when it comes to create, the writer reassumes the archaic model of creation, which includes the complete circuit that goes from the annihilation of the world until its total reconstruction as a reproduction of the cosmos and from the nobodyness of the human being until their total reconstruction as a reproduction of the gods. As a result of it all, the work-of-art and the artistic personality of the writer emerge as a microspace and time of the sacred, drifting on a singular development.
