It investigates the perceptions of decision-makers regarding the value of information and its attributes in the decision-making process; barriers to access to information are diagnosed, as well as restrictive factors to the availability of information on the external environment; internal and external sources of information are identified, as well as channels for obtaining and divulging information; the management of information is recorded in the organization; information was characterized in the decision-making process; and the flow of information from the management of essential functions of the enterprise is mapped, guided by the model of Lesca and Almeida (1994). The theoretical foundation was structured around the themes of tourism, hotel management and information. The methodology used was an investigation of primary and secondary data. The primary data, collected by means of a questionnaire, through field research, were analyzed using statistical descriptive methods as well as the technique of direct observation. The research is applied, characterized as descriptive, in the form of a case study, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. In conclusion, it evaluates information as a resource that is not being strategically explored, in the sense of fully supporting the decision-making process in the hotel company that consented to the development of this investigation, and as a consequence, it is not generating competitive advantage. At the end, some limitations and suggestions for further study are indicated
