RESUMO

This work focuses analytically on the projects of life of adolescents, taking into account youth as a social category and its relation with space and time. It is intended to demonstrate that the adolescents projects of life acquire sense in present time and, thus, this time shall be meaningful in their relation with the past and the future. The starting point is to comprehend that the adolescents projects of life are built and meant upon social-cultural experiences, livings and interpersonal interactions they establish. Thus the here suggested reflections gyrate around three main axis: the first one is youth as a socially constructed category and thus only comprehensible if related with social and historical time. The second one is the experimenting of present time by youth, whose emphasis is the everyday life of adolescents, which take place and multiplies through the city and where the representations and organizations of social time become concrete. At last, the poor adolescent s projects of life which, in spite of being conceived individually, become universalized as they present common aspects, such as: work, education and family, which refers one another in the comprehension of generations. As empirical elements for these reflections, an observatory field research was released with the adolescents enrolled in the Federal University of Juiz de Fora s Project of Extension "UFJF Território de Oportunidades" ("UFJF Territory of Oportunities"), which had as its basis the presuppositions of the research-intervention. By appropriating these reflections, it is believed there may be a contribution to the social assistants to be able to develop an action in a better qualified manner, trying to reach the guarantee of opportunities and rights to adolescent
