RESUMO

This study sought to understand and analyze the social and ethno-racial and students in higher educational institutions tickets the IFPA in 2009 in order to contribute to discussions on the implementation of affirmative action measures in Institution. It initial assumption was the hypothesis that the higher education of the IFPA (black + brown) were underrepresented. The questionnaires was based on the identification of individuals according to color the IBGE and the self-declaration, before it obtained the information from the IFPA blacks are not the minority. However, there was the disadvantage of blacks relative to whites. This distance is greater considering only the blacks. It was also noted that access to family background and schools of origin are significant in determining access to most popular courses. Derived hence the need to suggest to the IFPA designing activities and programs promoting access and tracking the stay, keeping in mind that there are students who work and / or whose families have incomes pay less than three minimum wages and that this condition is more common among black students. It is suggested as the adoption of remedial classes and / or scholarship aid. It is also necessary that the IFPA continue investing in preuniversity course because it also helps to improve the access of vulnerable groups to disadvantages.
