RESUMO

The aim of this study is to analyze the constitutive aspects of hip hop culture. This achieves considerable proportion of young population of Sao Paulo, especially those who suffer most in the process of social exclusion, ie, blacks and mestizos of the suburbs. We are interested in, particularly, to understand how young people associated with that culture problematize and prepare answers to the contradictions of the nation today. The long history of struggle and resistance undertaken by staff in black-culture was mixed in the context of hip hop, scaled a persistent work to save memory and history of their ancestors. In this new stage of their lives, the music (rap), break (dance) and graphite (painting) are the most frequently used by young people in their peripheral manifestations. Ideas more consistently themed by these performances, the trauma of prejudice and discrimination suffered by blacks as a guide for the critical reading that rappers have been doing the society in his chronicles music in order to introduce new types and levels of citizenship in contemporaneity
