RESUMO

The research has its object the movement of Pau de Colher, that had a place in the town of Casa Nova, Bahia, in the period of 1934/1938. The subject is inserted in the tradition of the âmessianicâ movements, but the concern specifically considers a sociological reading to privilege the concern of explaining the relations between the significance of religion and misery, with the perspective of its social actors, in the interior of the relations of conviviality inside of the âaidâ. The part time employees to arrive and achieve the objetive of the religious experience was an aproach from the work together with the people who stayed behind and also the contemporary ones reports and bulletins from the military police of Bahia, of Pernambuco and PiauÃ, jornals with ample circulation, at the time, and the material available about the subject. Making the assumption that the significance between religion and misery in the core of the universe has a symbol wich was built by the interior culture related to the daily life, material and spiritual; that such significance estabilished inside of the naturalistic-religious culture dynamizes the daily life, they explain to them, at the same time, reveal the social reations, economic and politics, between the civilians, that are protected by this culture, we analyze the aid of Pau de Colher as a historical-sociological place of religious experience in the middle of the agricultural Brasilian group. Thus, the research became possivel in a way that the daily dynamization making them leave, from the location on which they were diving, to construct na alternative place in which they have faced
