RESUMO

The present relationship management between IT unit of the Gold Bank2 and its clients units asks for an organizational knowledge management approach, as banks depend more and more on IT solutions. This situation faces the IT unit with conditions that can damage the relationship between its clients units, as different businesses culture, the difficulty showed by the clients units in understanding the complexity of its IT infrastructure, high costs of IT solutions and a high amount of demands for IT services. Besides some IT organizations launch relationship management programs, looking for the best communications level, a description of the profile of this professional is somehow a hard task, as well as the basic organizational conditions to launch these programs, causing barriers to an effective performance. The main objective of this work is to identify the performance of the relationship manager of the Gold Bank IT unit, as a factor of the organizational knowledge creation, throughout a case study. Besides, it is identified the organizational situations as risk factors to the performance of this professional.
