RESUMO
This work deals with the issue of Project Management, an activity that is becoming more and more important in our days. Initially, a synopsis was made of the accumulated general knowledge in Project Management, showing that, regardless of all the evolution of this methodology, the problems with finishing a project by the deadline with the desired characteristics while keeping costs within the budget still fail. The Theory of Constraints was found to be very useful in the reduction of these flaws whose major causes were shown; a methodology was proposed to eliminate them. Finally, an exploratory research was made in ten companies of different dimensions and areas of specialty that applied this methodology and aspects of its utilization were discussed.
