O ensino de língua portuguesa no ensino médio após PCNEM: propostas e práticas

RESUMO
The objective of this thesis is to investigate how the proposals made by the National Curricular Parameters for High Schools PCNEM - are being implemented in the State School System of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. As many students graduate from elementary school without being proficient in their own Mother Language- competence that should be developed in school what is sought is to verify the existing problems, especially the ones concerning the methodological approaches of the pedagogical contents. Since the implementation of the document, the federal government has not yet funded any material that may lead to the effectiveness of the proposal. In 2009, the Secretary of Education of the State of Sao Paulo launched a series of Manuals that aims at developing activities proposed by the parameters. Therefore, such material has been chosen as the source of this analysis in order to verify its applicability and balance to the PCNEM. First of all, we contextualize the implementation of the PCNs. In addition, we use the theoretical framework based on Bakhtin for both the analysis and the discussion of the proposals. We examine the PCNEM as well as the Manuals produced by the Secretary of Education of the State of Sao Paulo. Finally and we propose adequacies. We conclude that it is the beginning of an educational turning point, and that such Manuals might be taken into consideration, although it is crucial that adjustments must be made, as indicated throughout the work.
