RESUMO

To present master dissertation its centered in the practice teaching of Social Work, with the intention of contributing for the disclosing of subjects relating to the social worker practice formation in Graduation Courses of Social Work in São Paulo state. Taking as reference, the last two education programs in Social Work, we define as objective of research, reflect and analyze the education of professional knowledge on social assistant work, between 1982 and 1996. Nine courses from São Paulo state have participated on this research. The knowledge level which is the basis of the complex education of social assistants and the way they contextualize their doing is analyzed. This is an analytical-reflexive study, for it involves the complex nets which constitute the reality of our research object. The methodology adopted is based on the analysis of the questionnaires given by the teachers. In conclusion, this research provided analyses and reflections about education of professional methods taught on São Paulo state institutions, and the impact of this teaching in professional formation. It also emerge the relevant aspects of the social assistant profession on teaching field
