RESUMO

Investigate and describe the process of organizing information in Lattes Curriculum, identifying the issues that raise the tool for its users, its benefits and potentialities. An exploratory study is presented in 2 stages. The first, about the Bibliographic Production Component to examine and describe the mechanisms for recording data that it provides, as well as the criteria to organize the data, identifying issues that cause distortions in its completion and trajectory for finding information. The second, by analyzing the criteria for the organization of information in the Lattes Curriculum, about the information needs of their users. The concluded was that the Lattes Curriculum is recognized by its users as a tool that represents the diversity of cultural wealth, social, scientific and technological developments in the country, but we must attempt to the fact that, the simple completion of Lattes Curriculum do not assure to the researcher the political support and increased the financial resources for their research projects. If the users of Lattes Curriculum recognize that this tool has not clear and objective instructions, facilities of completion, or retrieval of information. It results to produce a greater amount of incorrect information and that some fields do not have rules for validation, it becomes necessary that the CNPq, as the manager of this tool, review its construction far away from the users view. The Lattes Curriculum should effectively and accurately, consolidate power as an instrument capable of changing social, economic and political desired by the country. The organization of knowledge, oriented to the user and to the knowledge itself can contribute to the reevaluation of the Lattes Curriculum.
