RESUMO

This thesis is based on a study seeking the spirituality concept in the teaching of Business Administration taking into account the environment of the Business Administration Course of Faculdade de Ciencias Econômicas, Administrativas e Contábeis of Divinópolis FACED, located West of the Minas Gerais State. The study draws from inferences obtained from general conclusions based on the awareness of a certain number of data collected in the investigation of documents and from the responses to an open survey carried out within the institution academic community. In this inference, one can identify the Administration theories covering the subject matter without actually mentioning or describing it. The investigation based on the inductive method comes close to the data describing the religious features of the institutional community, which, in its majority, supports the proposal that a spiritual concept in the Business Administration Course does exist. The statements of Chiara Lubich mediate the search for the different understandings of the term spirituality. The latter considers Business Administration as a Christian task in the management of Gods resources in the world, in such a way as to make economy more humane. In this connection, the Administration concept is seen as the application of knowledge into action. While allowing a conceptual typology of the term spirituality, this study puts into perspective the religiousness of the city of Divinópolis that brings about a sharing spirit which enriches the proposals for the subject matter and brings closer the investigated term with the unit spirituality concept. This studys outcome is an educational exercise for thinking about the readiness of people in joining, repeating, sharing, and transforming ideas into actual initiatives.
