RESUMO
The murder of a farmer by a coffee colono worker in the early XX is the starting point of the present work, which intends to reconstruct, with the elements of the criminal process, the every day life inside the coffee farms of Sao Paulo. To do so, it is pointed the nature of the transmigration sough in the period, the political context of those times and the circumstances under which the workers submitted to the colonato regime, to enlighten the role played by the immigrants, specially the italian ones, in the country?s social structure then, as well as contextualize the testimonies and reports about the Sao Paulo coffee fields when the crime happened
