RESUMO

This study is an analysis of the family issues experienced by abandoned minors (street boys and girls) as were called the minors from lower class environments during the 1930s, products of marginality, and their influences, relationships with lifes universe, and everyday life (the group as a possible family). The main body of the analysis was the novel by Jorge Amado, The Captains of Sand, published in 1937, here focused on from a social point of view, since this work fits into the horizon of family, society, and contemporary times, allowing a healthy interdisciplinary integration to take place.
