O ambiente virtual : uma investigação sobre a relação entre tecnica e semiotica

RESUMO

The main goal of this thesis was to investigate the appearance and consolidation of the virtual environment. The virtual environment can be seen as the consolidation of a new type of environment originating from the fusion of the technique with semiotics. The virtualization process is a result of the articulation between technique and semiotics. The virtual environment is not a purely tecnhical machine. In it the technique becomes virtual and updates itself into semiotics. To advocate this thesis, we employed concepts, defined by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, which we considered to be more adequate to the analysis proposed. We tried to build a conceptual plan for the understanding of the problems which arose as a result of the appearance of the vi rtual envi ronment. The vi rtual envi ronment is more than just a set of abstractions, it establishes new concrete spaces, which open up new opportunities for the ~ducational field. From the virtual environment it originates an abstract machlne that creates deterritorializations and reterritorializations. From the virtual environment new creative escape routes may be derived but also escape routes which may paralyze the opportunities for transformation. The virtual environment abstract machine possesses semiotics systems which we should map and programs we should know, for it is overwriting other abstract machines, including the educational machine itself. It is important to be able to distinguish the technical plan from the technocratic program.
