RESUMO

The noise is one of the main occupancy problems suffered by workers in knitted articles factories. The Jacutinga s region is one of the main points, where knitted articles are produced in Brazil, and there are few informations about noise levels due to knitted equipments and machines and how much the workers are exposed to this noise. This work presents a study about noise levels, due to many kinds of machines in knitted factories. It analyses different places used to implanting companies, and their influence on noise levels. It lists the types and marks of machines utilized in the different ways of production of knitted articles. It relates the machines attributes by their noise spectrums. Also in this work, are showed the results of noise exposition dose on workers, in different activities within the knitted factories. Since these results, it should be taken special attention as about local noise spectrum, as about - exposition spectrum. The noise levels and dose were among 80 and 85 dB(A), and this suggests the application of an action plan to controlling the noise
