RESUMO

Small fruits have attracted the attention of producers and worldwide consumer market and the strawberry is one of the most important representatives of this group. In Brazil, strawberry crop is showing its importance in area and economy. Research works about this plant are few in the country, and thus, it is very important to develop further researches about the mineral nutrition of the strawberry plant. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen and potassium fertilization on the plant mineral nutrition, yield and fruit physicochemical properties. The experiment was carried out in Horticulture sector of Department of Agriculture at UFLA (Lavras, MG, Brazil), starting in March 2009, during 11 months, using a randomized blocks experimental design, with three blocks and 16 treatments, in 4x4 factorial scheme, four nitrogen doses (100, 200, 300 and 400 kg ha-1) and four potassium doses (150, 300, 450 and 600 kg ha-1 of K2O), using as sources of nutrients, urea and potassium chloride, respectively. Strawberry plants cv. Aromas were used. Yield characteristics, nutritional content and physicochemical properties of strawberry fruits are influenced by both, nitrogen and potassium fertigation, varying according the studied characteristic.
