RESUMO

This text demonstrate how was done the construction of an instrument of evaluation of the nicotine dependence, in this frequency and intensity. I perceived the necessity of construct such instrument after a literature revision by witch I verified the absence of an instrument of global evaluation of nicotine dependence in Brazil. In order to construct this instrument I did a new literature revision, in witch I considered some biopsychosocial (biological, psychic and social) variables of nicotine dependence found in scientific literature. The construction of such instrument was done as a questionnaire with: a demographical evaluation; three open questions and seventy five closed questions evaluated in its frequency and intensity. This instrument was applied in 41 subjects among doctors, nurses, staff and patients of CEMA hospital, which is a reference in ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology. This application was done in order to achieve a first evaluation of the utility of this questionnaire in measuring the nicotine dependence. Beside this, this application was done to get a first view of the most important variables of the nicotine dependence, in this first sample
