N2O Evolution by Green Algae

RESUMO
Evidence is presented here that axenic cultures of Chlorella, Scenedesmus, Coelastrum, and Chlorococcum spp. evolve N2O when grown on NO2−, showing that the Chlorophyceae are a source of N2O in aquatic systems.
