RESUMO

The technological advances and the consequent development of digital apparatuses that have constituted a new interactive media produce very sensitive social changes nowadays leading peoples actions to be marked by the reality of the cultivation of what is new of renewal and ruptures of some valid social structures. The culture of mobility, flexibility, transition and temporariness, typical of the societies marked by information technology, inputs people the need to act in agreement with the demands created by these societies. It is then judged quite opportune to study the effects of this technological change upon adolescence to shed light on the adaptation of adolescents to the digital technologies and its utilization in the establishment and maintenance of social connections. Therefore, the present work aimed to investigate a few photo logs kept by resident adolescents in the Metropolitan Region of Grande Victoria/ES and has collected information concerning the social changes established through the mediation of the digital media. Six photo logs have been selected, 3 young females ones and three young male ones, and 5 pages from each. The research was performed on thirty pages that have been investigated. The results were analyzed in accordance with Evolutionary Psychology, and have indicated that certain patterns of off-line interactions orientated the establishment of on-line relationships and revealed evolutionary patterns typical of sex typed behavior such as the demonstration of affection, praises, the expression of longing and the search for contacts. The digital media was considered an efficient tool in the sociability as it is important in the favoring of aptitude in the life in group.
