RESUMO
The dissertation analyses the relation between the reflection developed by the aesthetic theory and the architectural production of the new museums corresponding to the subsequent period of the international vanguards. It makes an examination of the extinguishing of the Modern Movement in the architecture, after the crisis of its prospective functions. It makes an analysis of the critics towards the modern architecture of the post-modernism and it still carries out a study of the ways assumed by the museums in the change from the modern to the contemporary. Finally, it points out the main changes occurred in the area of architecture and the aesthetic of the new museums, having as specific reference the tensions from the workmanship of the architect, Rem Koolhaas.
