RESUMO

This work presents a non linear composite reservoir applied to long term planning ofhydrothermal power systems. The problem is formulated by stochastic dynamic programming and the system has been aggregated through an equivalent system that supposes the optimal operation of the system s reservoirs. In the system s inflow energy modeling for the resolution of the problem by dynamic programming, an order (1) autoregressive model has been adopted. A system simulation program that uses the individual representation of the hydro plants and deals with particularities usually neglected by the aggregated simulation models has been used. Comparisons against the brazilian generation system s methodology (that considers the linear operation of the reservoirs) have been made with systems from 2 to 29 hydro plants of the Southeast region showing significant savings. ...Note: The complete abstract is available with the full electronic digital thesis or dissertations
