RESUMO

The dealing of constructions to expand the electrical system has become a challenge for State companies or mixed economy companies. The selection of appropriate suppliers directly impacts on the contractorâs competitiveness. The costs created by the delay in construction ending and the consequent unavailability of the energizing event reduce the expected remuneration during the concession period. In order to help the decision maker into the complex process of selecting suppliers and also attempting to add other criteria to analysis, providing more consistency to the decision, this dissertation applies methods of support for multicriteria decision to a real case, to verify the possible changes on the order of proponent suppliers. The methods used were PROMETHEE I (Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation) and SMARTS (Simple Multi-attribute Rating Technique using Swings), based on the theory of multiattribute utility. The applications made were considered very simple tools and appropriate to the problem of selection of suppliers, although difficult to insert into the companiesâ structure
