RESUMO

The present dissertation boarded as it is treated the subject competitive strategy structured in small business, analyzing studies already developed about this subject. The mentioned analysis was based on international publications that studied the process of formulation of competitive strategies structured in enterprises in small business of England. Referent to the small business, object of inquiry of this work, there was done an analysis of the profile of these undertakings in the State of Sao Paulo, whose informations were lifted through inquiries developed by the Sebrae São Paulo. As result of this work, it was specified the functional requisites of a system to help the leaders of small business in the formulation of competitive strategies structured for his business. To specify these requisites it was chosen like base the Model of Fields and Arms of the Competition, when Contador (1996) was idealized. This model consists of an innovatory tool for formulation of competitive structured strategies, analysis of business competitiveness and increase of the competitiveness of the enterprise. Besides these characteristics, his methodology is of easy assimilation, it can be quantified mathematically and his logic is adapted to the reality of the Brazilian enterprises. This model, second Contador (1996), is adapted to understand, to analyse and to explain like the enterprises compete; to formulate the business strategy and the operational strategies aligned to the competitive strategy, with the objective to enlarge the degree of competitiveness of the enterprise . Besides this, he separates clearly the extern vision of the enterprise, represented by the fields where he competes, of the internal vision represented by the arms that it uses to compete; it uses the concept of arms of the competition, which are the origin of the competitive advantages; it is an innovatory methodology, different from the usual ones in the study of the competitiveness; and it is quite appropriate to the national reality. With the study of the process of structured formulation of competitive strategies from the Model of Fields and Arms of the Competition, the functional requisites of a system were specified to stimulate the leaders of small business to think, in the structured form, the competitive strategies of his business, aiming to increase the competitiveness of the business.
