RESUMO

The Chapada Diamantina national park is located in an area of 152.000 hectares in the Bahia state center-west region encompassing important cities to state tourism development. The Park, approved in a 1985 decree, has still been not regulated having in its perimeter a agrarian survey on legal lands acquisition, and the elaboration and execution of a land uses plan plus its actions such as: inhabitants dispossession, displacements and natural resources use and access rules. This work intends to historicize the creation of the "park place bringing context elements of its creation in 1985, to map the main inhabitants and users as well as the potential tensions due the regulation eminence, and above all to identify the subtle permanence strategies improvised by the park affected individuals. Based on the local experiences in the Chapada Diamantina national park we intend to reflect on the national parks conservation and management policies bringing the French experience as a national parks management to oppose with the disseminated conceptions and models in Brazil.
