RESUMO

The work propose a methodology for estimation of the contact forces generated by the drill string against the well and the drilling riser system. The solution is obtained using the Finite Element Method with a non-linear aproach in a static, 2D model. The stiffeness effects of the drill string are kept by discretyzing an indeformed configuration and then displacements are applied (according with the boundary condition) in the ends and also in the walls by means of putting it in the limits of the well. The excitaion period was devided in time-slices and each geometry of the riser (calculated in the frequency domain with improved linarization) was used in a "quasistatic" analisys as if it were the well. An example of a high angle well beeing drilled by a drill-ship is used to demonstrate the technique. As conclusions we show that as expected the maximum force is in the region of the BOP stack/well-head and due to the movement of the ship, the values calculed in each slice undergoes a considerable variation. We also sugest that the contact forces between the drill string and the riser should be used in the dynamic analisys due its values
