RESUMO

The analysis of the behavior of foundation and its influence on the whole system response, rotor-bearings-foundation, is of a great importance to investigate the dynamic response of these systems. Modal analysis procedures have been strongly developed in the last decades and have become important tools of analysis in engineering problems that involve rotating machinery and its supporting structure. The new models to analyze the rotating machinery behavior take into account several subsystems interaction, which constitute the whole analyzed system and, thus, the influence of the foundation as well. In this way, this work presents a methodology for dynamic analysis of the foundation using modal analysis techniques to determine its modal parameters(damping factor, natural frequency and generalized mass). The proposed method of mixed coordinates is then applied and the foundation effects are introduced in the complete mathematical model of the rotor-bearings system. In this procedure, the foundation is represented in the whole system through its modal parameters. The experimental validation is conducted in a set-up to fit the vibrational behavior of the flexible structure and its interaction with the rotorbearings system
