RESUMO

The present work had like objective do an approach of the insertion of the lawful conformity as instrument of environmental management, through the identification of the applicable lawful requirements and of the comparative analysis of all the legislation about the relative, industrial environment to the activities in exam, having like reference base the normative requirement 4.3.2. of the ABNT NBR ISO 14001:2004 - Systems of Environmental Management. It opted by the town of Leans PR, as a consequence of the diversity of industrial establishments installed of interest of the research. For the hoist and analysis of the facts utilized itself as reference the industry of transformation, in the segment of metallurgy, characterized like the sector of bigger representatividade in the number of establishments in the town. Initially, it established itself that the level of service with the lawful conformity facing the environmental legislation did not be part of the administrative routines of the companies researched, the operational, technological options and of business were strategic, in detriment the social and environmental demands. However, in it elapse of the work, showed up that the knowledge about the environmental obligations incidents, through the insertion of the lawful conformity, was decisive in the sense of help the companies it understand, control and minimize the resulting environmental impacts of his activities, products and or service.
