RESUMO

The complexity of software systems is increasing. The software development requires advanced tools, techniques and methodologies to understand and model current applications. The introduction of software architecture concepts into the software development process helps this task as it provides an abstract view of the system. This abstract view allows developers to make precise decisions related to structural and behavioural aspects of the application being developed. Some approaches have been proposed in order to integrate classical concepts of software architecture with widely known software development tools. For instance, UML profiles and UML extensions that have been that address architectural aspects. In this context, the OMG proposes Model Driven Architecture (MDA). Despite the term âArchitectureâ, some software architecture elements (like connectors) are not explicitly established in MDA. This work proposes the inclusion of software architecture concepts in MDA by defining a UML profile that is platform independent
