RESUMO

Layered materials with different characteristics like crystallinity, composition, surface area, density, pore structure, morphology and texture, were prepared by the reaction of H3PO3 with Zr(IV) under different synthesis conditions, such as: a) reagent concentration (different H3PO3Zr(IV) rations); b) time; c) temperature; d) use of a crystallization promoter. The composition of the materials was determined by chemical analysis (zirconium and phosphorus). Several physical methods were used for the caracterization of the materials: X-ray diffractometry, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, surface area determination (dinamical BET method), mercury porosimetry and scanning eletronic microscopy.Information about the: non-cristalline semicrystalline crystalline, transition in these materials, were obtained by a datailed analysis of the results from X-ray diffraction and vibrational(infrared abd Raman) techniques. A clear dependence of the crystallinities on the following parameters was verified: reagent concentration, time and temperature of treatment. The results suggest that the crystallization occurs by a solubilization/reprecipitation mechanism.
