RESUMO

The yield of asparagus beanr (Vigna unguiculata spp. sesquipedalis (L.) Verdc.) is an excellent alternative source of income for producers of the state Amazonas, since its consumption is very expressive in the region. However, they are virtually nonexistent in the literature about the behavior of the crop when grown under different conditions of soil moisture and irrigation regimes in greenhouse. This study aimed to obtain parameters for the overall management of irrigation in the vegetative and reproductive stages of the asparagus bean, and assess the economic feasibility of its cultivation in greenhouse. Two experiments were conducted with the culture in a greenhouse. The first experiment was a randomized block with a 5x2 factorial scheme, corresponding to five levels of matric potential (equivalent to -15, -35, -55, -75 and -95 kPa), and two phenological stages (vegetative and reproductive) . The second experiment was also conducted in a randomized block at radom, but with varying levels of replacement of water consumed (40, 70, 100, 130 and 160%). Were used four replicates per treatment in each experiment. Were evaluated the development (height, diameter and dry matter), the yield (number of pods, yield and productivity) and quality of beans (fresh weight and length of the pods). Data were subjected to analysis of variance and regression. It was concluded that: it is economically viable to cultivate the aspagus bean in greenhouse, since the profit was R $ 1.7 for each real invested, the management of irrigation should be conducted keeping the moisture soil close to field capacity (- 15 kPa) in two phenological stages.
