RESUMO

The magnetoimpedance effect (MI) in sandwiched thin films of the FeCuNbSiB/Cu produced by Magnetron Sputtering is studied using HP4396B impedance analyzer in the frequency range 100kHz-1,8GHz. The samples were produced with an alloy with composition of Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 as the ferromagnetic and Cu on the normal metal. single and multilayer thin films were studied as well as sandwiched films using Cu as the central conductor. This configuration of samples exhibited high magnetoimpedance ratios The results were compatible with the theoretical prediction (for the effects of the increase of the conductivity due to the multilayer use for the samples sandwiched) MI ratios of 300% in the multilayer sample and 200% for the sandwiched samples are obtained, showing that the single multilayer sample is more suitable for MI sensors than sandwiched films.
