RESUMO

The way of which occurs the relation to Nature presents distinct aspects to different societies. However, a common mark can be signaled among them: the search of regularity in the phenomena of natural world, as a way of assuring the continuit of their existence. Nature s controI constitutes itself as the route fiom which people expect to obtain this regularity. Hence, while indigenous tribes of our country look for the resources for obtaining this control in Magic and Religion, our society seeks them in the deveIopment of scientific knowledge. In this search, indigenous tribes have tried to maintain traditions and beliefs of their ancestrals, which allow them the perceiving of the integration to Nature, while our society comes attempting changes in the manner of relating itself to environment, since the distance between man . and Nature has stressed and imposed world-wide reach alterations to the environment. The search of new ways of relatinong to Nature, as the maintaining of indigenous traditions and beliefs, also significs the secking of regularity in the natural world
