RESUMO

This text pursues two main goals: the first one it is to support, from the point of view of Lacanian psychoanalyrical theory, the structural difference between language in schizophrenia and language in neurosis. The assumption of this difference leads to an unusual theoretical position: linguistics is no longer authorized to take language in schizophrenia as a defective variant ofthe so-called normal language. The second goal is to understand what makes language in schizophrenia, language m schizophrenia. The point here is to understand what in putative schizophrenics language allows people (specially scientists) to a schizophrenia diagnosis.
