Liderança : uma relação eficaz / Leadeship: na effective relationship

RESUMO
This study approaches the efficiency of leadership in three Higher Education Institutions in São Luís-MA. One institution is private and the others one are public. Three styles of leadership were adopted: democratic, autocratic and liberal, based on Kurt Lewin?s theory and on his collaborators and based on qualities of leadership (objective method, people comprehension, flexibility, communication and authority), defined by Uris A.(1967).This way, clear and objective questions were made and the leader/boss answered according his experience and diary relationship with his subordinates/employees. The efficiency of leadership appears when the answer of the subordinate corresponds to the style and qualities expressed by the boss. The most used styles leadership were: HEI-A, liberal, HEI-B, autocratic and HEI-C, democratic. In relation to the qualities of leadership, the HEI-A used more authority and less communication, HEI-B used more flexibility and less people comprehension and HEI-C, used more authority and less flexibility
