RESUMO

The present survery was carried out at Estação Ecológica de Paulo de Faria, North of São Paulo state (19°58 S e 49°32 W), left margin of Rio Grande, the border with the state of Minas Gerais. The Estação Ecológica comprises an área of ca. 435,73 ha. The climate according to Koeppen s classification is Aw, with two well defined season: a very dry, April to September (rainfall mean 167mm) and a very wet, October to March (rainfall mean 978mm). The soil is caracterized as purple latosol arising from the neocretaceus sedimentes of Bauru formation. The Estação Ecológica was divided into three sampling area, where the floristic survey was undertaben resultting in 217 species belonging to 159 genera and 63 families. Among the sampled species 197 were Magnoliopsida, 16 Liliopsida and 4 Pterydophyta. The most representative families in terms of number of species were Leguminosae (14,74%), Bignoniaceae (6,00%), Euphorbiaceae (5,52%) e Apocynaceae (4,60%). Comparing the three sampled area, using the Jaccard index, it showed a geater similary between area 1 and 2 then with area 3. This result is largely influencied by the caracteristis of the soil. The similary index between the Estação Ecológica and some other studied area of different localites is probabily low, as sugested by comparing the occurrence of common species between them. Regarding the flower and fruit phenology a greater number of species flowers during January until April while most of them were observed fruiting between May to August. Key words: floristics, vascular species, Estação Ecológica
