RESUMO
The current world is characterized by uses of the technology in all areas of the social life. This insert could not be outside of the educational context, promoting a real change in the way of teaching. This influence was reflected directly at the languages education, mainly relating to the reading. The general objective of this research is to investigate the process of the reading development by the relations between literature and cinema in the classroom. It aims more specifically to answer the question: Is possible to develop the reading using the cinema as counterpoint to the literary language? Under the perspective of the research-action, the researcher/teacher and the pupils of a fifth year from the basic education I of a private school, they had used literature joined to the cinema to the development of a proposal in the attempt to answer the questioning. We had as research instruments: observation context; initial and final evaluations questionnaires; production of texts based in the development of the project. This process evidenced the possibility of multimidiatics materials use as resource to the development of the reading, but they clearly left the active role to the teacher in this process, as well as the importance of the study of the different forms of language that influence the actual world. The results evidenced the necessity of a continued work so that this process does not end in itself.
