Juventude, cultura e identidade: os jovens da comunidade de Peixinhos

RESUMO

This work has as objective to investigate the influence of the social projects in the construction of the identity of the young people, having as reference they own vision about themselves. This study of case was carried through in the Quarter of Peixinhos, situated in Olinda, Region Metropolitan of Recife. It has as empirical sample or youngs participants in two cultural projects of this community, the Lamento Negro and the Gazela Negra. On the basis of the studies on Culture, Identity and Youth, we identify that cultural aspects come being determinative in that says respect to the performances of the young in the historical process of the Brazilian society. In 90 years and the 2000 youthful identity, as category of study of sociology, exceeds the space scope of the universities, extending its horizontes. It comes being elaborated from the family, of the school, the places of work, in to the shopping centers, clubs, in the streets and other spaces of leisure, culture and sociability, also, of the participation of these young people in social and cultural projects. Thus, directly on more including sectors to the consumption and the cultural styles are reached. We perceive in this study, that, for the interviewed young people, when participating of social projects, its social identity if enriches with the elaboration biggest of the following principles and behaviors: The sense of responsibility in its acts; the valuation of the school, the professionalization and the culture; the valuation of the familiar relation; the respect to the people with who coexists; not relations with drugs or the boarded young violence, in general. The youngs that was approached in this search did identify, over all, as citizens made use to usufruct its rights and to exert its duties
