RESUMO

This work highlights different conceptions of social justice, and its objective is to supply basic tools to make social workers able to place themselves in the contemporary debate about the theme. From one side it is justified due to the denominated social political reconstruction which comes from global context transformations in the end of the 80s; transformations involving debates about public matters redefinition in the present, and it has a main role in the social political field inserting points related to the State and its relation with civil society as much in deliberation as in social politic execution, interfering in the social protection standard configuration. From the other side the need of inciting this professional category- which takes social justice as their sign to think about the theoretical content given to the expression. The main supported idea is that the social justice expression application conceals the production social relations; despite the importance of Marx contribution to the justice theory widening, his work, certainly, is beyond justice (HELLER, 1998), what means that thinking of distributive or social justice means to be situated strictly in the middle-class society boundaries. The work introduction recuperates general points related to the theme, aspects from the ancient and medieval thought about justice, as well as the justice principles; the objective of this part is to clean the area, denying certain concepts in the common sense field which disturbs even more the discussion understanding about the theme. The rest of the work was structured in three parts which recuperate the great themes supported inside each of these concepts theories, like: the classic and modern liberalism, the denominated equalitarianism, as well as the radical liberalism and the denominated liberal-equalitarianism. It s important to inform that this work has no intention to inscribe in the philosophy history field, but it goes back to the ancients having as main idea the contemporary debate, over all John Rawls contribution. The last part besides summarising the topics that give support to the hypothesis defended, it retakes some points to the Social Work nowadays
