RESUMO

The objective of this study is to understand the new insertion of Jaguapitã-PR in the urban network in the Noth of Paraná after the seventies, from the productive specialization in the pool tables. For this we approached the geneses of the urbane nucleus in the context of the urban network of the North of Paraná from the thirties, characterizing it from the economic point of view, social, political, so on. Understand the introducing process of industrial activity of pool tables, it inserts in the period after 1960/1970, when many transformations from economical and social order affected all the urban network and the small cities Jaguapitã-PR. By the intermediate of local initiatives, social agents were able to catch general processes, transforming them in pool tables industries. The expansion of this productive activity created the perspective to introduce new industries by farmers, farmers? sons, and several traders, so on. Coming from the little rural and urban mercantile production. In 1980 and 1990, the activity had a great expansion, becoming Jaguapitã-PR the first city in Brazil in number of pool tables industries and with a significant control of the national consuming-market, being responsible for the control of 30.000 pool tables in Brazil. This industrial specialization present in the city, makes its insertion in the urban network of the North of Paraná, as well as in other network, whose space interactions became much wider.
